they caress
the battered chords
that make up
my being
slowly strumming
my every curve
every solid line
they drip like liquid
down into
the deepest part
of my core
your words
collect
like raindrops
and fill
my once
empty soul
they caress
the battered chords
that make up
my being
slowly strumming
my every curve
every solid line
they drip like liquid
down into
the deepest part
of my core
your words
collect
like raindrops
and fill
my once
empty soul
I like the guitar imagery. A lot of my chords end of battered on the slender necks and luscious curves of my guitars. Chords mixed with words flow together filling empty souls.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
You are welcome. Do you play an instrument?
No, I don’t. I do have a keyboard and I’ve messed around with it a few times, but nothing serious. What about you?
I play guitar and bass. I’m not very good at drums, but I assemble decent drum tracks. I’m a terrible singer, but that adds to the humor of my bloody awful parodies. I’ve written and recorded several original songs over the past few years. Many of them are on my blog. I have a YouTube channel with parodies and original songs, and I have 12 original songs on SoundCloud.
Oh that’s awesome! I’ll definitely check that out. I always wanted to write lyrics or do something professional with writing.
It’s fairly easy to turn poems into lyrics. I turned a poem Ruelha wrote into a song. I really needed a woman to sing it though. I made two versions of the song: 1) Is the poem as written, which is a long song at 6:05. It has a lot of ping pong stereo. It’s best with headphones. Ruelha posted the long version on her blog. 2) I edited the poem and got the song down to 3:25. You can hear the short version here: https://wp.me/s1yQyy-memories. And the long version at https://wp.me/sb0Mrv-memories.
Thanks so much for sharing. I’ll check it out!
Let me know what you think. I like honest feedback. If you have some poems that you think would make a song, I love collaborating. And if you can sing, even better.
I will definitely let you know! I can’t sing haha but am open to a collaboration sometime.
That would be fun.
That is interesting, kinda a funky vibe to it.
My group of all my alter egos is called the Average White Boys. I guess my funkiness is coming out. Seriously though, I imagined and attempted rap between the chorus, but the phrasing wasn’t quite right so it ended up a funky kind of rap.
Awesome!!
Reminds me of a poem I wrote.
Thank you!
Your poetry floats in the best kind of way. Five-star work!
Such kind words, thank you!
Great work again! Welcome!!
