beautiful like a rose
in shades of pink
stroke the pages
of his heart
oh so slowly
they touch a part
of him
he keeps hidden
behind a mask
her words
sweet like a dream
in hues of blue
they feel alive
inside his soul
dancing
like a summers breeze
upon the darkness
of the night

finding
all his layers
and still choosing
to love him
regardless
of what the world says
without seeing you
or hearing your voice
I would still
know you
even if a lifetime
kept us apart
I would still
feel you
between the ends
of the earth
and everything
inside of stardust
there are still echos
of you and I
and even when
I leave this world
it is you
that I will carry
from this life
to the next
no matter
where we are
in this world
if it’s meant to be
we’ll always
find our way
back together
and here I am
inside this vast space
of the unknown
watching the stars
shine so brightly
I wait

within the darkness
hoping you’ll find

even if only

Love comes in many ways, in many forms, and on many levels. To love and be loved in return is the greatest blessing, no matter what form. As long as it’s real.
Once you start peeling back the layers you really start to see your truth, your worth, and your strength. With layers comes balance. In order to love and accept others, you must learn to love yourself first.
I know that’s easier said than done, but if you can get past the surface, you’ll find it.

red ink-stained
how they bleed
slowly dripping down

the layers

leaving just a part

feels like
it was carved
from the center
of the earth
and etched
so beautifully
into the universe
as our world
is fast asleep
in the quietness
of this place
we find ourselves
gently floating
through seconds
coffee and dreams
fill this space
a breath
of silence
falls upon us

though our time
here upon
this moment
doesn’t last
the love within
always will
it’s not the goodbye
