the raindrops
like liquid pearls
tiptoed upon the petals
forming tiny glistening orbs
that clung to the delicate surface
the flower now adorned
with these celestial jewels
seemed to come to life
shimmering with a newfound radiance
once there was a love
so beautiful
it took your breath away
two souls wrapped
in a timeless embrace
their love knew no boundaries
with each passing moment
love became the ink
that delicately rewrote the words
on the parchment of their existence
it painted over the faded lines
of their once broken past
and even though that chapter
of their life is closed
their story they created
will remain upon their souls
until the end of time
you are the calm in my storm
the anchor that steadies me
when I feel adrift
when I am with you
I am my truest self
unmasked and unafraid
you have become
the very essence of my existence
entwined with my heart and soul
your happiness
becomes my purpose
your pain
becomes my burden
and to love you completely
is beyond anything
I could have imaged
that transcends time and space
when the world
finally falls asleep

I felt a distance

it was as if our hearts

and I guess the hardest part
of this is learning to accept
that not all loves are the same
infinite seconds
woven into fleeting moments
our love defies time’s grasp
forever is a mere whisper
as the essence of you
fills the breath in my lungs
I know now
that part of me
has been yours
since the beginning
of everything
and this one life
could never be enough
to love you
their souls have danced together
intertwined in a love
that seemed destined for eternity
yet life’s unpredictable waves
led them to different paths
she realized that love
was not always about possessing
but sometimes about releasing
and with a heavy heart
she knew she had to set him free
letting go of someone you truly love
is perhaps one of life’s greatest challenges
and she knew
that she would always carry
a piece of him within her
and hopefully
that would be enough
