your laughter

stitching together fragments
of forgotten melodies
even in the quiet
when the world is still
your voice hums like a distant lullaby
a compass guiding me home

endless and eternal
calling me back to you

and his steady breath
filling the cool air
shadows stretched longer

as they held each other close
