Sincerely

I wrote you a letter
in fading verse
measured by time
shaped into poetry

I began with your name
careful and bright
and it stayed

time moved through the lines
but didn’t take them
it only made them gentler

each word
a falling star
brief and brilliant
leaving light behind

a kind of poetry
that doesn’t end
just shifts
into quieter forms

because love like this
will live in ink
in every line it touched
in every word it became

so if this reaches you
half-light half-dream
know it is whole

sincerely
someone
still watching
the sky
fill
with you

  1. Oh my. Such a tapestry has been woven here.

The symbolism of the fading/falling stars…

    The living in ink…

The love matched by another in the beauty of the sky…

    This love seems so anointed…

I know it to be the kind of love that never ends…sincerely.

Beautiful work, CC. It’s a joy to see you inspired. Love looks good on you.

  2. This one felt like you, but yet different at the same time if that makes sense? And I absolutely loved it! And the narrative flow I felt from it! Round of applause for yourself incoming! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

  3. Jennifer, you write so beautifully! “sincerely someone still watching the sky fill with you”, stunningly expressed, Jennifer!
