Orbit

your name
keeps finding its way
into the quiet spaces
of my day
in the first light
through the window
in the slow drift
of afternoon thoughts
somehow
everything ordinary
leans a little toward you
a song
a passing cloud
the way the world pauses
for a second longer
than it should
and if anyone asked why
I wouldn’t have an answer
only the feeling
of the tide moving
for a moon
it never needs to touch

  1. Wow!! This!

    “and if anyone asked why
    I wouldn’t have an answer
    only the feeling
    of the tide moving
    for a moon
    it never needs to touch”

    Love it…

  2. Thank you so much for capturing the feeling I couldn’t describe.

    Loved these lines: “your name
    keeps finding its way
    into the quiet spaces
    of my day”

    Bellissimo, Jennifer, Bellissimo
    Chuck 🙂 xoxo

  3. The only thing more powerful and intoxicating than these words and the sentiment they represent is being the name…being the moon…feeling the orbit.
