standing at the window
she reads their love letters
to the universe
an infinite reflection
of who she was
staring back at her
as the colors of the moon
paint a luminous mural
across the room
the thought of him
comes flooding back through her
like it was just yesterday
and the goodbye
hurts just the same
a promise once made
now
just a bitter-sweet memory
first three lines has the makings of a great haiku 🙂
Thank you so much 🙂

Really loved this, My Dear!! Bellissimo, start to finish but really loved the ending lines!! “it was just yesterday
and the goodbye
hurts just the same
a promise once made
now
just a bitter-sweet memory
😊💖💕🌹
Thank you so much Chuck. Thank you never seems enough for all your support on my blog. YOU are so much appreciated!
Well, My Dear! Your appreciation and joy is good enough for me!
I especially love “bitter-sweet memory”!! I love both of those words and the images they conjure up. Bitter-Sweet memories for me are usually accompanied with some really sweet ones too, Which is why the Bitter-Sweet ones are so emotional and hurt!!
Loving to read your posts. I missed you, Sweet Poetess! Happy to have you back! 😊💖💕🌹
Yes, sometimes those bitter-sweet memories do just that. At times so comforting, but at times, just tearing you apart. Thank you so much dear poet, words and writing just can’t keep me away. 💕🌹
The moon
Bone white jeweler
Looking down
At this sapphire
No monocle
Back and forth
It floats
Is it envy
That causes
It’s sarcastic smile
And all the while
We put in all that toil
In hopes
Of a love to spoil
Only to end in soil
We can talk of pain
In in that old refrain
To fear not
The sun will rise again.
Is not to make a plan
Only to savor the moment
In that it happened at all.
