no one has ever held
all my scattered pieces
and made me feel
so beautifully undone
as though every broken part
I had spent a lifetime hiding
was something you wanted
to know by heart
you never asked me
to put myself back together
never tried to make something whole
out of everything I had lost
instead you touched the places
where I had come apart
and loved me there
as though the fractures were
the most beautiful parts of me
and I wonder
how someone can unravel me
so completely
yet leave me feeling
more like myself
than I have ever been
perhaps that is
the strangest kind of love
to stand before someone
with nothing left to conceal
and discover that being seen
does not always mean
being wounded
sometimes it means
finding someone
who can hold your ruins
like they are sacred
and make you believe
that even in pieces
you were always
something worth loving
