we walked away
carrying pieces of each other
we could not return
leaving fragments of us
in places we once called home
no more words hovering
at the edge of confession
no more maybes
stitched into hope
no more shared secrets
folded between sheets
and in that quiet
I knew some losses
are not meant to heal
they are meant to stay
filling the spaces
where we no longer fit
Beautiful, Jennifer.
Thank you 💙

Thank you Jennifer and to you ❤️
Thank you, definitely needed ❤️
The loss of mutuality. So painful. You capture something here – that we are more when we are joined and after the break there are pieces that are carried away on both sides that we can never get back or give back. We are irrevocably changed by the experience.
Absolutely, it’s the loss of what we were together that cuts deepest. Those fragments we carry, ones we can never fully recover, are a constant reminder of the change that follows.
Love the second stanza. Great work!
Thank you so much!
Love it! Loss is something else huh? 😌
It sure is 😔 thanks, Noah.
