her skin was like the pages
of a well-loved book
soft with time
edged with stories
traces of sunlight kissed its surface
highlighting the faint lines
where laughter had written its mark
if you ran your fingers across it
you might feel the imprints
of whispered secrets
the echoes of hands once held
the quiet of nights spent dreaming
and just beneath in the spaces
between freckles and scars
there lay whole chapters yet to be read
waiting for someone patient enough
to turn the pages
a lifetime is how long that book would take to be finished. but what a read that would be 🙂
beautiful Jennifer. Mike
What a lovely comment, Michael ♥️ thank you so much
This speaks to life and introspection. Enjoy today because tomorrow is another chapter to live to. Such a thoughtful writing, Chic
You’re so right, Hazel. Thank you so much ♥️
The imagery in this is downright deep and gorgeous! And it flowed so beautifully from start to finish. But of course, that’s not surprising, because I expect nothing less from your words. I hope that more people learn to keep being patient enough to turn those pages, and not run or give up to the next thing too easily. ❤️🙂💞🌹
Thank you so much! You’re the best, guess that’s why you’re my best friend haha. I too hope that more people learn to be patient and keep turning those pages.❤️🙂💞🌹
Awwwww! You’re the freaking best too! You already know you’re BEYOND welcome though of course! ❤️🙂💞🌹
Superbly written…a really accomplished and realized piece.
