Look in the mirror

I know we all have those days when we stand in front of the mirror and wonder who we are exactly. Who am I? When did we let so many things in our life and especially society determine how we see ourselves? Why is it important what others think of us and not what we think of ourselves? We hold up different masks to see which we want to wear and push all the others to the side for another day.

When will we look in the mirror and say enough? I am beautiful beyond my skin, I am worthy. I don’t need to let my past define who I am right here and now. I can let go of all that’s happened to me. I can move on from a broken home, abusive relationships, drugs, alcohol, doubt, and self-destruction. I can let go and move on, it is possible.

I know at the end of the day when we’re standing in front of the mirror, no masks, no makeup. Just raw flesh and bones, we truly are the same. We are made up of the same matter and bleed the same color. We’re more alike than we all may realize. We often close our eyes so we don’t have to see all the flaws within, but we are missing the most beautiful thing to look at OURSELVES. We’re all in this one life TOGETHER, why not love one another along the way?

So, the next time you look in the mirror, I hope you realize that your flaws are just misunderstood beautiful pieces of yourself. You are beautiful just as you are. You are worthy. You are exactly where you are meant to be at this exact moment in time. Trust that.

Happy Sunday to you all. Should you ever need some extra encouragement and love, you know where I am

  1. Very encouraging and beautiful post. Learning to accept who I am (faults and all) and learning to love people just as they are is something I’m slowly doing. It’s tough, especially when you doubt yourself and others, but it is possible.

    • I know it’s tough, sweet friend, trust me I know. If we want others to love us just as we are, we must learn to do the same. We’ll get there ❤️ Thank you so much for your kind words. Sending you lots of love.

  2. I know this feeling well. It’s all something we gotta face. What Elvis Costello called the deep, dark truthful mirror.
    You’re gorgeous without any help!
